The Amateur Radio Klub of the Arkansas Northwest (ARKAN) is an organization for anyone interested in amateur radio. Club members of all ages (and their families) socialize and provide public service and educational opportunities for the Northwest Arkansas area. The club actively provides radio communication for local events including Airfest, parades and other public events. A membership application can be found at the end of every newsletter. Dues are $20 per year for the first membership and $5 for each additional membership. ARKAN Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. local time on the fourth Monday of each month at the Arkansas Air Museum located at Drake Field on Highway 71 in Fayetteville. The club also holds a "second Saturday" event monthly that focuses on projects or other ham radio and technical/educational opportunities. For more information about the club, please contact ARKAN. |
