"Second Saturday" August 14, 2004
Steve n9nso led the workshop and we built 2m tape measure yagis for everyone in attendance. We had a lot of fun and found out these thing will tune almost flat at some parts of the 2m band no higher than 1.3:1 anywhere on the 2m band. We will be using these antennas among other things for a fox hunt. Click here for instructions on making this antenna.

Antenna Install
Antenna Install - On the ladder is John, KD5NFX; holding the ladder is Steve, N9NSO. The R7 Vertical was installed and tested and looks good except the SWR will need adjusting on 20M and 40M at the next opportunity. The brackets were fabricated by KD5NFX and allowed the antenna to be installed in a vertical plane even thought the pole leans toward Australia. The tower and tri-band beam will be installed near this location this spring, so everyone sharpen their shovels because we have a large hole to dig!
Soldering Class
Soldering Class - left to right - Benny, KD5OHP; John, KD5NFX (instructing); Steve, N9NSO; and Ted, AD5ON. John presented and excellent lesson in basic soldering techniques with some helpful tips on desoldering chips without destroying the PC board.
